Due to environmental concerns or limited service life of waste landfill sites in recent years, the waste smelting kiln which can render waste materials harmless with volume reduction has become mandatory for our life. The waste smelting kiln is a furnace in which the smelting method is utilized for municipal and industrial waste treatment. More specifically, fly ash and/or waste incineration residues are smelted at 1300°C or higher temperatures into liquid slag, which is discharged and cooled down to a glassy form of fused slag. The major purposes of the smelting treatment are summarized as follows.
