It is considered to be very useful to gain an understanding of the effects of additives to MgO-C bricks that are intended to improve properties such as oxidation and corrosion resistance, strength and linear thermal expansion in the case of considering the stability of bricks with regard to volume changes. In the present work the authors evaluated the effects of additives on changes in the linear thermal expansion of MgO-C bricks and investigated the effect of the additives on various other brick properties.
