摘要

It is known that, boric acid has a control on the setting reaction of alumina cement in low cement castables. However the mechanism of the retardation effect is not clear. The authors researched the retardation effect of boric acid on low cement castables through investigating the changes in Ca ion concentration in water solutions of alumina cement with and without added boric acid and surveyed the deposits occurring due to adding boric acid.
