Reaction of Chromium-Containing Raw Materials with Magnesia Aggregate, and the Effect of Additives

Various chromium-containing raw materials are used for direct-bonded and rebonded magnesia-chrome bricks. The results of a study of the reaction and sintering of chromium-containing raw materials with magnesia aggregate, and the effects of additives like silica flour, yttrium oxide and metallic aluminum, in small amount, are presented and discussed in this paper.
