摘要

In previous work11 the authors reported that when new castables were mixed in a mixer containing residual castables (hereafter referred to as residual castable), the new material tended to have a shorter working time. The mechanism was explained as arising from the phenomena that elevated pH in the mixing water increased the dissolution rate of alumina cement resulting in rapid coagulation. Also, the setting was accelerated in consequence of alumina cement hydrate included in the residual castable.
