Guest editorial: Patriots' day at the Boston marathon

A disaster code appeared on my pager at approximately 3 pm on April 15, 2013.1 stopped editing papers and turned on the news to find images of two devastating explosions near the finish line at the Boston Marathon. I headed to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
