We read with interest the letter by Visvanathan and Hans,1 outlining a novel technique of patient positioning for the removal of nasal foreign bodies in children. It provides an interesting alternative method.Our concerns with this method are twofold; firstly, that placing the child in a prone position may result in the foreign body falling further back towards the nasopharynx, due to the effects of gravity.
