Yieh Hsing Enterprise Co, a subsidiary of Taiwan's E United Group, has delayed the restart of its 300,000 tpy wire rod plant to next year because of high billet prices, a company spokesman said. The company had initially hoped to start trial runs at the plant, located in Pingnan in Taiwan's southern Pintung county, by the end of June. Yieh Hsing is looking to import raw material for the plant from countries including Brazil, Russia and China. It is unable to source billet domestically as supply from China Steel Corp - the only billet producer in Taiwan - is tight, the official said.
