Energy Efficient & Environment Friendly Technologies, Equipment and Services for Indian Steel Industry-Meeting Global Standards

Corporate Monitor in association with the Joint Plant Committee, Steel 8s Metallurgy and Millennium Institute of Energy & Environment Management (MIEEM) organised a Seminar on Energy Efficient and Environment Friendly Technologies, Equipment and Services for Indian Steel Industry - Meeting Global Standards. The seminar held at Oberoi Grand in Kolkata on May 21, 2005 saw the congregation of august technocrats and specialists of steel and its associated sector. The Seminar commenced with an opening speech of the convenor, S. Majumdar of Corporate Monitor who hailed the guests of honour in the Inaugural Session ceremony and a welcome address was imparted by S. S. Dasgupta, President, MIEEM. B. D. Ghosh, Executive Secretary, Joint Plant Committee rendered the Chairman's address voicing concern raised by the international agencies as to how emission from the steel industries can be curbed. Newer technologies are however, being tried out, afforestation is being done and measures are being conned to turn waste into wealth.
