Improving the Quality of Dry-Quenched Coke

Existing approaches to improving the quality of dry-quenched coke are appraised. The influence of the composition of the circulating gas on the quality of the cooled coke in the dry-quenching system is investigated. The composition of the circulating gas (its CO and CO_2 content) is found to significantly affect the ash content in metallurgical coke and also the reactivity CRI and strength CSR of the coke after reaction with carbon dioxide. It has no influence on the mechanical strength M_(25) and wear M_(10).
