Iron compounds encountered in coal deposits are considered, along with their influence on the applicability of such coal. The mineral components of coal were classified in terms of their origin and formation in [1]. In current enrichment technology, the removal of epigenetic com-pounds is very difficult—and sometimes impossible. The most common components are iron compounds, primarily sulfates, sulfides, carbonates, and oxides; iron humates are also possible. In the present work, we consider epigenetic structures consisting of iron-bear-ing compounds in fractures of the Volkovskii bed (Kemerovo region).
