Problems associated with processing the detector signals are readily handled by software when the process is computerized. However, this is a future prospect (fairly remote for many processes). The proposed methods of processing the current detector signals improve the reliability of the potential and current monitoring instruments and do not cost a great deal and do not need highly skilled staff and do not fall outside the traditional system for operating those instruments.
