RECONSTRUCTING AND OPERATING COKING BATTERY NO. 6 AT KEMEROVO COKING AND CHEMICAL PLANT

In 1997, it was decided to reconstruct the coking battery under the existing production conditions. The assembly and insulation of the equipment were performed under a Giprokoks project on the existing foundation and with the dimensions of the previous battery. Coke battery No. 6 uses the PVR system with lateral input of the fuel gas and consists of 65 oven chambers of design capacity 650 thousand t of usable coke a year, with the wet method of coke quenching. Before the start of the stacking in 1999, restorative work was undertaken on the buttresses, the lateral and central beams, and the top basement sheet; the common gate on the chimney was overhauled and the gates on the machine and coke side were replaced. Expert evaluation showed that the previous chimney was suitable for use. A housing was installed, the lining of the joints was renewed, and the anchoring bolts under the columns were replaced. The construction of the battery took a comparatively short time: from 10 July to 20 November 2000. There were nine teams of refractory workers, of which two were from the coking plant in the organization. The main suppliers of refractory brick were as follows: the Pervoural' dinas combine, the Bogdanovichi refractory plant, and the Borovichi refractories combine.
