摘要

The activity of catalase from the muscle tissue of a merlangius merlangus (whiting) was measured indirectly by the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide, H2O2. Titanium (IV) oxysulfate was used to improve precision in the UV/Vis signal for an enzyme-induced change in H2O2concentration. Total protein in the fish muscle tissue was calculated from the Bradford method at 26 ±1 ppm and the activity of catalase was measured at 1.507 ±0.003 mM/min using a modified version of Beer's Law.
