Various methods are compared for determining the clinkering properties of coal, with different plastometric systems. Operating conditions are proposed for the AP5 automated plastometer. Since the 1930s, within the nations of the former Soviet Union and elsewhere, the clinkering properties of coal have been primarily characterized by the plastic-layer thickness, determined by the Sapozhnikov- Bazilevich plastometric method (described in State Standard GOST 1186-87 [1]).
