Conditioning of Coal Charges for the Coking Process

To achieve the required level of metallurgical coke quality and reduce its rate in the blast furnaces of the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Integrated Works Joint Stock Company, it is necessary to (a) change the pattern of supplies of coal concentrates to reduce the fractions of low-metamorphosed coals in both the caking and meager constituents of the charge and (b) condition the industrial charge with petroleum coke fines. It is necessary to carry out experimental indus trial carbonizations of charges of optimal composition and quality with various contents of petroleum coke fines to stabilize the quality of coal feedstocks of the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Integrated Works Joint Stock Company, which can provide the up-to-date level of CSR and CRI indices of the coke, and use the results of these experiments in signing the long-term supply con tracts for the required coal feed and petroleum coke fines.
