A Computerized System for Prediction of the Quality of Coal Blends and Coke

The workers of the data-processing center of the Avdeevka plant have designed a computerized system for recording the incoming coals and for predicting the quality of coal blends and coke, which is being used in coal preparation section No. 2 of the plant. The system makes it possible to perform predictive computations during the production process and during the planning of the coal feedstock base, and to carry out the analysis of the technological efficiency of variants of coal blends. The algorithm of computations made is based on the mathematical modeling of technological processes and the use of the reference method for the prediction of the strength indices and degree of contamination of the coke produced. For computations, use is made of the quality indices of coals and coke adopted in the plant and of the results of the analysis of the plant statistical data and of the results of industrial investigations. The system designed for the conditions of the Avdeevka plant may find application in other plants with account taken of the specificity of their technology and equipment used.
