Analytical Control of Recovery of Ammonia, Sulfur and Cyanide from Coke-Oven Gas

The construction of chemicals-recovery section No. 2 according to the technology of the German firm Krupp-Koppers was the beginning of the re-equipment of the chemicals wing of byproduct coke production in the Magnitogorsk metallurgical plant. Since May, 1998, the new technology has been implemented by stages. The task was to provide analytical control of the new technology. To this end the laboratory was equipped with the modern analytical instruments (Kristall-2000 and Aniony-410V chromatographs, conductivity meters, photocolorimeters, Czech wet-gas meters, etc.); novel express methods of analysis were designed and laboratory workers were trained in new methods of control.
