Many therapeutic options are available to manage atopic dermatitis, reflecting the absence of an effective treatment for this condition. Several guidelines have been published recently concerning the treatment of atopic dermatitis. The aim of these publications was to offer standardized strategies in the management of these patients. However, many recommendations lack quality scientific data and are based on clinical experience. Thus, current guidelines provide the best data available to lead physicians to decide what is best for their patients.
