摘要

We present a thorough study of submillimeter-long optical parametric oscillators (OPOs), also known as sheet-like OPOs. We explain how the phase matching condition can be relaxed to enable ultrawide tuning. Using a theoretical formalism based on integer modal numbers, we derive the conditions for double resonance and predict the emission spectrum of the doubly resonant sheet-like OPO. Our approach allows us to straightforwardly simulate wavelength tuning when changing the pump wavelength, cavity length, and crystal temperature. The calculations are compared with previously reported experimental results. (C) 2014 Optical Society of America
