Reaction of Fatty Esters with 2-Amino Benzene Thiol

摘要

The reaction of 2-amino benzene thiol with oxo fatty esters,namely,methyl 10-oxo-undecanoate in presence of absolute methanol and hydrochloric acid yields methyl-10-(2',3'-dihydrobenzothiazolyl)undecanoate and similarly methyl 12-oxoocatadec-z-9-enoate yields methyl 12-(2',3'-dihydrobenzothiazolyl)octadec-z-9-enoate,a reaction not so far studied with fatty esters in detail.The structure of these products have been established with the help of IR,NMR,MS and compositional data.
