NATIONAL SEMINAR ON BIODIESEL

摘要

India requires a huge quantity of petroleum(about 120 million tonnes)to keep its wheel moving.To meet the requirement,India has to import about 90 million tonnes of crude petroleum every year.It costs the exchequer very heavily in terms of foreign exchange.On the other hand,the crude petroleum is a non-renewable source of energy and the underground reserves are depleting very fast.The worldwide trend is to shift towards renewable resources of energy-biodiesel is one of them.Keeping the national and international scenario in view,the Oil Technologists'Association of India(SZ)organized a seminar on"Biodiesel-Indian Perspectives"on September 17,2004 at IICT,Hyderabad.
