The returns from cotton depend on its productivity per hectare and price of the product. Both these are fluctuating depending on several factors. The price factor is viewed from different angles by different interests in cotton. However, conflicting interests both of the consuming industry and producers have to be met. The prices of cotton have many ramifications and one has to opt for the optimum price, for which cost of production will have to be taken into account.
