International women's day

The International Women's Day is observed globally on the 8th March of every year. The UN theme for International Women's Day, 2013 is "A promise : time for action to end violence against women". This year's theme is very much applicable in the Indian scenario. Recent happenings all over the country have evoked near uprising by the young generation against the miscreants who are responsible for the very cause of violence against women and also against the government and judiciary with a perceived notion of inadeaquate administration and legal measures to curb the menace.
