A series of structurally diverse novel 1,2,3-triazole incorporated quinoline derivatives (7a-g and 8a-l) were prepared via simple and efficient click chemistry involving Cu~I catalyzed intermolecular Huisgen [3+2] cycloaddition reaction in good to excellent yields. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antimalarial activity against CQ-sensitive (D6 clone) and CQ-resistant (W2-clonc) strains of P. falciparum and mammalian cell cytotoxicity against Vero cells in an in vitro assay.
