Synthesis of some new chalcones, pyrazolines and acetyl pyrazolines derived from plperonal and halogenohydroxy acetophenones as antimicrobial agents

New chalcones, pyrazolines and acetyl pyrazolines were synthesized and characterized by IR, ~1H NMR, Mass spectral and halogen, nitrogen analysis. The compounds were screened for antibacterial (Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillius subtilis) and antifungal (Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium chrysogenum and Fusarium moneliforme) activity. Some of the compounds showed better activity than standard compound used for comparison.
