The coal beneficiation technology and new modern high-throughput equipment at the Antonovsk BP and the reliable supply of company-mined coal of consistent quality makes it possible with this plan to produce concentrate with the quality parameters needed by metallurgists: ash content <=8.4 percent, caking ability y >= 24 mm, and a constant ratio of grades GZh and Zh. The coal concentrate actually supplied to the WSIMW by the Antonovsk BP is characterized by inconsistent caking ability and ash content. The mineralized coal component is primarily concentrated in the large classes, 10-25 and >25 mm. Laboratory coking has shown that replacement of the Kuznetsk CBP concentrate in coking charges with Antonovsk BP concentrate in any proportions causes no deterioration of coke quality and is feasible provided that the Antonovsk BP concentrate is not inferior to the Kuznetsk concentration with respect to principal quality parameters, i.e., ash content and caking ability. However, addition of even 5 percent high-ash Antonovsk concentrate to the charge leads to a decrease in coke quality, which becomes progressively more severe as the proportion of high-ash concentrate rises.
