PRESERVATION OF WOOD AND WOOD PRODUCTS/INDUSTRIAL PRACTICES

摘要

In the present scenario plantation/farm forestry timbers are being widely employed in the wood and wood based panel industry. They are non durable therefore perishable in nature. By giving suitable preservative treatment-their service life can be enhanced and can be brought to the level of durable timbers. Work carried out in IPIRTI in this direction is reported in this paper which deals with prophylactic protection and permanent protection of raw material and finished products, which are practiced in the industry in India.
