Ligand dependent metal-metal interaction in mixed-ligand oxovanadium(IV) coordination compounds with OO and NN donor ligands

Our attention was drawn to a recent publication in our journal by Tapas Ghosh,Sharmilla Bhattacharya and Gurunath Mukherjee,J.Indian Chem.Soc.,2004,81,449-453 in which the authors have reported the synthesis and characterisation of oxovanadium(IV) heterochelates containing OO and NN donor bidentate ligands such as glycolic acid (OO),2-hydroxybenzylalcohol (OO),ethyl-ene glycol (ethane-1,2-diol) (OO),2,2'-bipyridine (NN) and 1,10-phenanthroline (NN).
