Interview: The future of psychiatric medicine: Clinical trials and beyond

Leslie Citrome is currently Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at New York Medical College in Valhalla (NY, USA) and has a private practice in Pomona (NY, USA). Citrome was the founding Director of the Clinical Research and Evaluation Facility at the Nathan S Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research in Orangeburg (NY, USA). After spending nearly two decades as a researcher in the psychopharmacological treatment of severe mental disorders, Citrome is now engaged as a consultant in clinical trial design and interpretation. Citrome has authored or coauthored over 400 scientific research reports, reviews, chapters and abstracts. He is on the editorial board of nine different medical journals and reviews for over 50 other journals. He has lectured extensively around the world on the quantitative assessment of clinical trial results using the evidence-based medicine metrics of number needed to treat and number needed to harm.
