Regeneration of Energy in Electric Traction - A Concept for Energy Conservation

This paper aims to review electric loco operation with a view of energy conservation through the process of regeneration during braking as energy conservation is the need of the hour. The availability of electrical energy in the country is limited. Rail transport is one of the most efficient mode of transport and electric traction is the most efficient mode of rail traction, yet there is a need to review systems and implement energy conservation measures in electric traction.
