摘要

This paper proposes the design and development of the data acquisition hardware which plot the characteristics of the photovoltaic panel and a comparison with software which simulates manually. The voltage output, current and power characteristics of the panel is plotted with script program using Matlab. The design involves sensing of open-circuit voltage; short-circuit current using electronic circuits, processing with peripheral interface controller and transmission of the parameters to personal computer for plotting using the communication protocol in controller and a multi paradigm numerical computing environment. Software simulation is done by modeling and then simulated with Matlab by using the standard specifications of the specified panel. This instrument plots the characteristics of the photovoltaic panel which helps in deriving the maximum power delivered from the panel. The important advantage of developed prototype is that, device being portable and can be used in applications where relevance of renewable energy, solar is used. An experimental model is established and results got, shows ability of the proposed prototype with a percent accuracy of the designed model with simulated one being 93.78%.
