摘要

Model order reduction (MOR) has been recognized as one of the outstanding issues in modern research work. It is a key technique to approximate a higher-order system and thus perform faster simulation. In this paper, we have presented the various application areas where MOR is used to reduce the order of original higher-order system, simulation time and ease the controller design. In addition to this, an example is also illustrated in order to show the applicability of MOR techniques. The main emphasis in this paper is given to the application areas of MOR techniques. Finally, this paper discusses areas where less work has been reported such as interval and stochastic systems.
