Identification and Authentication System for Biometrics

摘要

Traditional authentication systems are replaced by Biometric based systems in modern security applications because they are unique and non replicable. The fingerprint features are extracted using the Crossing Number algorithm and validated by the proposed post processing algorithm. The fingerprint is matched by basic minutiae feature matching. Protecting the biometric system against the attacks is important. The paper proposes an authentication system that aims at securing the database using AES algorithm. The proposed algorithm is tested for various degradations in the input.
