摘要

The photonic devices are routinely characterized using narrow band discrete wavelength laser sources operating in visible and infrared part of electromagnetic spectrum. The optical properties of photonic devices, particularly the fiber optic and integrated optic devices are rarely tested over broad wavelength range. In this paper we describe an automated laboratory setup to perform broadband characterization of photonic devices. The process automation is achieved using a program developed in Labview software. A 2×2 fiber optic coupler and a 1×4 integrated optic power splitter are tested in the 750 nm to 1600 nm wavelength range.
