摘要

Digital Signal Processing deals with algorithms for handling large chunk of data. We can take advantage of Digital Signal Processor (DSP) which can be used for fast real-time implementation. Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) take real-world signal like voice/speech, audio, video, temperature, pressure, position, etc. that have been digitized and then mathematically manipulate them. Speex is a voice codec based on the Code Excited Linear Prediction (CELP) algorithm and support a wide range of speech quality. Digital signal processor can be used for fast real time implementation and optimization of speex codec by minimizing the redundancies in speech. The main objective of this work is to explore the potential of digital signal processors in the field of instrumentation. The work presented in this paper is concerned with implementation and optimization of speex codec employing Blackfin (ADSP-BF533) processor.
