摘要

The main purpose of a sensor network is information gathering and delivery, where the quantity and quality of the data delivered is very important. In this paper routing is based on the threshold value of each node. The nodes whose threshold value is lesser can only act as a cluster member and cannot participate in cluster-head selection process. We form clusters with the nodes and each cluster has one cluster head. The members of clusters can communicate with each other via cluster head. Communication to the base station is done through the sink. In each cluster, the node with the highest energy will become the cluster head. The cluster head may change after each round depending on the energy level. When information has to be passed from the base station to the end user, it passes to the sink via the cluster head that is closest to the base station and thereby reaches the end user. Hence the lifetime of the node is increased and the network's life is also prolonged.
