摘要

Embelia ribes (Burm.) which is commonly known as Baberang in hindi belongs to natural order Myrsinaceae. It is an evergreen tree found throughout India. Its fruit is hot, dry, with a sharp bitter taste : good appetizer, carminative, anthelmintic, laxative, alternative, aires tumours, ascites, bronchitis, mental diseases, dyspnaea, disease of heart, urinary discharge, used in snake bite, jaundice, hemiorania, and worms in wounds.
