A new look at transmission line loadability

This article describes a methodology for building up a universal loadability curve of a transmission line. The loadability for various length of transmission line has been calculated maintaining desired level of stability margin. Loadability curve has been drawn using developed relation for various power factors. Voltage stability constraints has been satisfied and line charging has been accounted. The effect of line charging susceptance has been brought out clearly. The loadability curve drawn accounting voltage stability considerations has been compared with that of St. Clair's curve drawn based on angle stability criterion.
