摘要

At extra high voltage transmission switching surge is the determining factor in guiding the insulation co-ordination. Pollution performance of insulators have been studied with electrolyte model under impulses of 1/50μs, 1/150μs and 1/2500μsvoltage wave with different resistance per unit length of the electrolyte. The 50 per cent impulse flash over voltages for different length and resistivity are determined and also the time to flashover are observed. The experimental results are thencompared with the output of the analytical model and are found to be in good agreement.
