摘要

Recurrence of spontaneous heating in sealed-off area at shallow depth in many Indian coalmines having suface connection supported by high capacity fan has made extraction of coal difficult or continues with apprehension of disaster. At places several million tons of coal is locked up due to fire. After realizing the severity of the situation the authors have made correction in dynamic balancing of pressure technique and applied in one of the mine to control fire successfully. The paper deals with the design parameters of dynamic balancing of pressure technique and its application in one of the mines at Karanpura coalfield, situated in eastern part of India.
