摘要

In this paper, a time dependent temperature distribution in layered composites has been described using finite element method. Basic concepts of the methodology including the characteristic features of the formulations are presented in detail. Layered thermal finite elements capable of handling varying thermal layer properties are described for thermal modelling and analysis, the effect of fibre orientation on temperature distribution is also studied along with the coupling term k{sub}(xy) which makes temperature fields unsymmetric. Results predict good agreement with relatively reduced model sizes.
