Prospects of Agro-Industrial Waste for Sustainable Soil Productivity

I feel greatly honoured at the invitation by Hisar Chapter of the Indian Society of Soil Science to deliver the 10th Dr. R. R. Agarwal Memorial Lecture. Dr. Agarwal worked in various capacities in the Department of Agriculture of United Provinces (nowUttar Pradesh), Director UP Institute of Agricultural Sciences, FAO and special assignments with Government of Assam, Gujarat, etc. He had been the President of Indian Society of Soil Science (1962 & 1963). He authored/co-authored some important books in Soil Science. I accepted the invitation with a feeling of humility and nostalgia and chose to speak on the topic to widen the scope of recycling the possible wastes for crop production and maintenance of soil health.
