摘要

Practitioners and researchers have noticed a rapid increase in community-acquired methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs). This increase is causing stress and concern for the individuals infected and the families of those infected. The impact of a practitioner-based multifocal training has not been clearly established. The purpose of this project was to determine the efficacy of a multifocal training that educated primary care practitioners about evidence-based treatment of CA-MRSA SSTIs and a resource Web site tool to increase practitioner's knowledge and utilization of evidence-based guidelines in the treatment of CA-MRSA SSTIs. Multifocal trainings educated practitioners concerning CA-MRSA SSTIs in Marion County, West Virginia.
