Electrodeposition of zinc nickel alloy was carried out in alkaline bath containing mixture of gelatin (GLN) and furfural (FFL) as brighteners. The effects of bath constituents, current density and temperature on deposit nature were studied through Hull cell experiments. The bath composition and operating parameters were optimized. Metallurgical properties and corrosion resistance of the deposit were discussed. Throwing power, current efficiency and polarization studies were carried out.
