Peroxide and gamma-ray initiated reactions of cyclic alcohols, and various cyclic and acyclic diols, with hexafluoropropene are described. Regiospecific additions are observed and structures follow from NMR data. X-Ray crystallography established the structures of some isomers. A variety of polyfluoroalkylated alkenes, dienes and aromatic building-blocks were derived from the polyfluoroalkylated alcohols. [References: 25]
