Influence of the ferrocene substituent on C-O bonds at the alpha position. Results from low-temperature X-ray structural studies

Results from structural studies have demonstrated that the ferrocenyl substituent lengthens C-O bonds at the a position provided that the C-O bond is antiperiplanar with respect to the C-Fe bond, these structural effects parallel the known solution behaviour of alpha-ferrocenyl esters.
