Comparative study on the Investigation of Heavy Metals in Tribulus terrestris Growing in Polluted and Unpolluted Areas of Peshawar Pakistan

摘要

Comparative study was performed for the determination of heavy metals in Tribulus terrestris growing in polluted and unpolluted areas.Heavy metals,like Pb,Cr,Cd,Fe,Cu,Zn and Ni were determined in the roots stem leaves and seeds of the plant by atomic absorption spectrophotometric method.It was observed that the plant exposed to more pollution contained greater amount of heavy metals than the plant growing in less polluted area.As Tribulus terrestris is medicinally very important,used for a variety of body diseases and health purposes,therefore for medicinal uses it should be collected from areas not contaminated with heavy metals.
