摘要

This paper is the result of a research conducted during the commissioning of a modern dry mortar and adhesives production factory which includes a sand dry-ing plant. During the fine tuning of the system, it was found that the sand drying plant had a significant delay in regulating the system and correlating the input flow of wet sand with the temperature inside the drier. To solve the problem and avoid undesired clogging of the sieves were conducted studies and it was found that it was necessary to change the place of sensors from the conveyor belt located outside of the sand drying plant to inside of the sand drying plant. Following this decision the most challenging work was to design a system to protect the sensor against severe abrasion generated by the flow of sand inside of the drier. There were tested 3 possible solutions to protect the sensor. The physical results ob-tained and the costs associated were analysed and based on that it was adopted the variant which better fits the requirements of this application.
