CYPERUS RICHARD!! (CYPERACEAE) NEW TO FLORIDA, U.S.A., AND THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE

Cyperus ríchardii Steud. is reported new to Florida, U.S.A., and the Western Hemisphere. A revtsed dichotomous key to the kyllmgotd Cype-rus in the continental United States, a technical description, distributional and habitat data, and illustrations, photographs, and scanning electron micrographs are provtded to aid in identification. Observations about identification of C. ríchardii in the field, its vegetat.ve reproduction, inflorescence morphology, possible pollination by insects, and potentialas a weed are discussed.
